Woo-hoo!!!! Life photo bird!

Coyote Hills today was absolutely quiet. I wasn't sure to even get out my rig. But that's thing about birding, and why I love it so much - you're never sure what's going to be around the corner. As one birding author wrote "Hope is the thing with feathers".

For about a year, I've been trying to get one simple photo of a golden crowned kinglet. They are not all that common here (winter only), and the thing is they move so fast that by the time I've focused on the spot, they're gone. So I've always been envious of other GCK shots seen on flickr.

Not a great shot, but hey - I'll take it! Two more life birds and I reach 350 photo'd lifers :-)
