Clark's Grebe

Same bird as this shot. Not sure which type of fish it is. It did this racoon like thing of dipping the fish in the water, shaking it clean, repeatedly (thanks Mr. Grebe - it allowed me some time to shoot).
Why would a bird clean a fish? Is it just getting it wet so it slides down easier? |
