Woo hoo!!!!
Today I photographed a rare bird I have been hunting for 2 months. Usually wintering in "sub-saharan Africa, this juvenile Ruff that has been staying here along with an injured brother. Two experienced birders, who have been birding for years and years helped me to find it - otherwise I would have completely missed it.
It's a pretty subtle difference, and I would have passed it off as a dunlin or another dowitcher if they didn't point out the white face.
Bird 350 [I only count birds I have photographed]. A fine, fine day. A loch ness bird picture to be sure, but I'll take it!
