Found these owls on Sunday at Mercy Hot Springs, in California's central valley, where they spend the winters. INCREDIBLY well hidden in a small grove of pine trees. To find them you ask the owner of the springs and she says that grove over there. Then in typical owl hunting fashion, you hunt, and hunt, and hunt, and...
This owl was unfazed by my constant camera chatter and allowed me to come within 20 feet of it.
