Happy FeatheryFriday! - head shots.

Shot while attending James Shadle and Jim Neiger's birds in flight classes in Florida. One of my 2 best investments this year (the other being my new Canon camera body).

James is an incredibly talented wildlife photographer - and one of the hardest working, most attentive teachers I've had the pleasure to learn from. Somehow he manages to watch you take (and correct) every shot, while watching the rest of his students, while watching the birds, while shooting as well. If you can - GO - it's worth it, believe me!

James has a very memorable saying for adjusting exposure on white and black birds - "If it's white, take out some light, if it's black, add some back.". Easy to remember - now manually adjust the exposure while shooting the flying bird coming at you. Not so easy to remember! :-)
