Japanese White-eye Zosterops japonicus
White-eyes are survivors - something unknown about Japanese White-eye's makes them resistant to the malaria that has infected the Hawaiian islands and decimated so many of its endemics.

Today I will be announcing my retirement, and departure from the company I started eight years ago. It's been a wonderful journey. I look forward to traveling the world and seeing all these wonderful birds I see on flickr.
