There's actually two big bugs in its mouth.
The mountain chickadees were very active this year. This one had a nest inside a 10 foot snag - the remains of what was once a giant sugar pine. On the mountain side above our cabin, I could watch these birds arrive every five or ten minutes with something for their chicks. More tomorrow.
