Juvenile (1st year) Heermann's Gull
Not much around these days - waiting for Doug Lloyd to release all those birds he's got in cages up there in Alaska ;-)
I'm on a "learn my gulls" kick. Can tell age now. Next step is to identify all the juvies and 2nd years. My book says 1st year Heermann's juvies resemble skuas - so true.
